Only Real Huts
Every accommodation is inspected on site: from the wood sauna to the wood stove. No anonymous holiday apartments, but lovingly managed mountain houses with history.
For travelers who appreciate the simple thingsBergruhe was born from the desire to make real getaways in the Alps accessible – far from the hustle, close to nature. Our goal is to offer guests a platform where they can find authentic huts, simple bookings, and reliable information.
We only work with hut operators who live on-site and know their region. Each accommodation is personally checked for cleanliness, location, and atmosphere.
Guests experience genuine mountain culture. From search to confirmation: every step is clear and without unnecessary extras. We do away with pop-ups, hidden costs, and endless filters.
Bookings in just a few minutes.A portion of each booking goes to local projects – trail maintenance, litter collection initiatives, and the preservation of alpine meadows. For us, sustainability is not a marketing tool but a mindset.
Nature remains intact for future generations.Every hut description includes concrete details: exact directions, amenities, altitude, and the operator's contact information. No vague promises.
Guests know exactly what to expect in advance. Our Promise

Valerie Scharf buys a dilapidated alpine hut at 1,400 meters and renovates it on her own as an overnight accommodation for hikers. Three beds, a wood stove, and a well – that was all it took to get started.
After two successful summers, the huts "Bergblick" and "Waldruh" are added. Both are located off the main trails and offer space for six guests each. Booking inquiries increase sharply.
Previously only open in summer, we retrofit three huts with winter insulation and small stoves. The demand for quiet winter days in the snow exceeds all expectations – occupancy rises to over 80 percent.
Laura Petrovic takes over guest care and on-site organization. With her, regular herb hikes and guided tours are established. Guests appreciate the personal atmosphere and tips off the beaten path.
The environmental seal "Alpine Green" is awarded to us for the use of solar panels, rainwater harvesting, and regional catering. Today, the huts are on average 75 percent occupied throughout the year.
